Note from Kathleen Carey-McNeal

Dear Sisters,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of our beloved sister Anne.  Anne was the epitome of what is special about our sisterhood.  Her tireless devotion and good nature served us well.   Anne and I met as students at GSU.  We shared a couple of classes and a lot of great memories as students.  Fortunately, our friendship continued after graduation.  I will always remember her beautiful simle and  caring gracious manner.  I believe many MPE sisters can remember Anne's kindness for them personally during the sad times as well as her celebrations of the good.
All my best to all my MPE sisters,
 Kathleen Carey-McNeal

Information from LaVerne

Greetings Sisters -
There are two ways to make a contribution to the Mu Rho Sigma Sorority Scholarship Endowment, In Memory of Anne Larcom.

1. Make a check payable to the GSU Foundation – Mu Rho Sigma Sorority Scholarship Endowment. Then note it is In Memory of Anne Larcom.

Mail the check to the GSU Foundation, PO Box 3983, Atlanta, GA 30302

2. Make a gift online at: https://netcommunity.gsu.edu/make-a-gift. Change the Designation box to “Other”, and it will bring up a new box that you type in “Mu Rho Sigma Sorority Scholarship Endowment”.

Then click on “add donation”, and this will bring up additional information, including a section at the bottom of the page for “Tribute Information”, and you can indicate that it is In Memory of Anne Larcom.
If you have questions, please contact me at 404-434-7565 or computerteacher@mindspring.com
 Best regards,  LaVerne M. Miller

Note from Anne

Thank you, Judy for your message of remembrance for Faye Hall.  It was not my privilege to know her very well, but I did know about the bridge lessons.  And, yes, it was in the paper, the AJC and was in one of the scrapbooks that I inherited when I began research for "A History of Mu Rho Sigma."  Those scrapbooks and all memorabilia, anything having to do with Mu Rho Sigma Sorority is on file in the Woman's Division within the Georgia State University Library.  We were pleased when they wanted ALL of our records because we were unique among sororities and probably unique in having a sister who was a champion bridge player!  Also, it is significant that from those lessons, a long time partnership grew between Faye and Mary Childs, also deceased.  Again, thanks, Anne Larcom

Comment from Judy Baer on the loss of Faye

Faye used to teach bridge lessons to us in the MRS room during the 10:00 to 10:30 break.  We'd sit on the floor (we didn't have much furniture) while she instructed us and commented on our play.  She was an excellent and inspiring instructor.  The Atlanta Constitution did an article on her teaching us and even put a large picture with it.  That was my favorite way to spend those 30 minutes.
